Teaching Methods

Lecture Method:

The teacher uses lecture method whenever there is a new concept that must be introduced. She usually does this if she wants to add more information that is not available in the book.

Demonstration:

During English classes, there are words that are sometime hard for the students to understand. What the teacher does is that she demonstrates the words so the students will be able to see and remember the meaning of the word.

Collaborating:

What I noticed about the method of teaching of most teachers is that they often let the students do group activities rather than pencil and paper tests. Through this method, the students are able to share ideas with one another and be able to form positive relationships among each other.

Classroom Discussions and Socrates Method:

Socrates method is often used in classroom. I think it is a method that every country uses. It is a very effective strategy since the students critical thinking is continually practiced throughout the discussions. As what I have observed in my classes, since the subject is English, the teacher reads an English question first then translates it to Thai if the students are not able to understand it.

Discovery- Learning Approach

Whenever there is a new topic being introduced, the teacher will ask a question to the students. However, the answer can only be revealed after they have finished the discussion. They have to follow through the discussion in order to find out the answer for the question. Before the class ends, the teacher will ask again the questions and the students will answer it.

As what I have observed in every class that I have handled, the teacher focuses on student- centered learning than teacher- centered learning.
