The number one problem that I have encountered during the demo teaching was the language barrier. It is hard to keep on talking when the students are not able to understand on what I was saying. I know it’s also hard for their part because sometimes they want to express something but they cannot tell me since they are not fluent in speaking English or I cannot understand them.

Sometimes, my cooperating teacher will help me by translating the English words that I say into Thai. But  she can’t do it all the time. So, what I did to overcome this problem, was that I tried to learn some basic Thai words, sentences and questions from the internet or sometimes from our buddies. I really tried hard learning to speak Thai. I also tried to speak slowly so that they will be able to catch up on what I was saying. I also asked help from students who can understand me to translate the words that I say for their classmates. Instead of having a lot of lectures, I tried to use more activities where they will be able to work on other than to listen because it will still be a waste of time if I kept on talking. Other than language barrier, I was also able to control other problems such as misbehavior.
