Week 2

January 13, 2019- Walking Street

I woke up early today in order to walk around the campus as well as outside the campus. I spent my whole day doing chores. I also started to work on the tasks that is required for us to accomplish.

In the evening, our buddies, Sai and Iang, fetched us up in the international house. They brought us to Sai's favorite Pad Thai Restaurant. After eating dinner, they lead us into Chiang Mai's famous walking street. I was able to capture the night view of Chiang Mai while on the way to the walking street. There's this moat that forms a rectangular path while going to the walking street. I really love those kind of views.

When we arrived at the walking street, the place was full of crowds. There were also foreigners in there. They said that you won't be considered to have traveled to Chiang Mai of you haven't visited that place. That how famous it is. We also went to various temples around the walking street. There were also a lot of stuffs and foods being sold. We also got a chance to play a shooting game.

I really had so much fun this night. I would really treasure every moment that I spent here forever.

January 15, 2019- Little Teachers' Day and Market Day

I had another fun and exciting day today since I got to witness another activity in the Demonstration School that I have never experienced in the Philippines.

The Prathom 6 were divided into 8 groups and each group were assigned a subject that they are going to discuss to the lower grade levels. Kru Joy told us that we can help the English team since we are English teachers. I decided to help the students to draw some pictures since they are having a hard time and also running out of time. I have noticed that the teachers are just watching them and not interrupting their works and they just let the students work on their own which for me is a very good strategy since they are teaching the students independence and discovery learning.

In the afternoon, the school held a market day. All the students, teachers and even parents are allowed to sell items that they would like. I can see that everyone was happy about it and they are enjoying the day. It was also a good opportunity for us to mingle and get to know the students more.

January 16, 2019-  No Class

The Demonstration School is celebrating Teachers' Day today and it is a rest day for all the teachers here, including us! I just stayed in the dormitory the whole day since I have to finish my 3 lesson plans that I am going to present to my cooperating teacher, Kru Joy and my supervisor, Miss Sitah tomorrow. At first I just made a lesson plan that follows my country's format. However, Miss Sitah sent me a sample lesson plan in Thailand's format. I think that the format of both countries are a bit the same so I did not have much problem revising it. Aside from doing lesson plans, I just did some chores in the dormitory.

January 17, 2019- Exhausted. Urgh!

I was so exhausted for this day because I have to observe 4 classes in a row. It was a little tiring. Kru Joy also let me assist her by teaching the students the correct spelling in their activity. I kept on roaming around the classroom and answering questions of students. I was also given the privilege to select the top 3 best works of students.

After the last class that I have observed, O immediately went to our office to take a rest. It may be tiring but I still had so much fun interacting with the students.

January 18, 2019- Not So Special Day

The Prathom 6 pupils had a scouting activity today. Kru Joy told me that she's also joining the camp. Since there was no class to observe and assist today, I just started making my instructional materials that I will be needing next week. Good thing that the things that I will be needing are almost done.

January 19, 2019

Spent the whole day preparing my instructional materials. I also revised my lesson plans. Everything is going smoothly. I can do this.
